Together, these findings suggest that a fundamental organizational principle of auditory cortex is based on the harmonicity. Accumulating evidence has also shown that neurons in many regions of the auditory cortex exhibit characteristic responses to harmonically related frequencies beyond the range of pitch. Recent neuroimaging and neurophysiology experiments have identified regions of non-primary auditory cortex in humans and non-human primates that have selective responses to harmonic pitches. Given the widespread existence of the harmonicity in many aspects of the hearing environment, it is natural to expect that it be reflected in the evolution and development of the auditory systems of both humans and animals, in particular the auditory cortex.
We live in an acoustic world full of harmonicity. Harmonics in sounds are produced by a variety of acoustic generators and reflectors in the natural environment, including vocal apparatuses of humans and animal species as well as music instruments of many types.
It is also a unique feature of vocal communication sounds such as human speech and animal vocalizations. Harmonicity is an essential component of music found in all cultures. 2Tsinghua-Johns Hopkins Joint Center for Biomedical Engineering Research and Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, ChinaĪ fundamental structure of sounds encountered in the natural environment is the harmonicity.1Department of Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD, USA.AAX DSP is not currently in active development. The most recent maintenance release of your DAW application is recommended. Supported sample rates: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192 kHz, in both mono and stereo. Note: With regards to the different VST formats, we strongly recommend using VST3 as some of our plug-ins have features that are not present in the older VST formats. Note: Softube plug-ins support 64-bit hosts only, and a 64-bit OS is required. We cannot guarantee a solution for issues in unsupported systems. Softube plugins are not tested in non-listed systems, but they most likely work as long as the system requirements are met. However, due to plug-in host differences between DAWs - and our own rigorous testing standards - we only officially test our plug-ins and instruments in the most recent versions of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Studio One, Reaper and Cakewalk. In theory, any 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, or AAX (Pro Tools 11.0.2 or higher) compatible host application should work.
Mac OS X 10.13 or newer (older OS versions will not work).Versions from 2.5.18 and newer of the Softube plug-ins have the following minimum requirements:
All Softube products require a computer with appropriate DAW host software (none of which are included).
